House Captains
Our House Captains hold the very privileged position of being role models for all children in school. They ensure our school values and ethos are modelled inside and outside the classroom. House Captains perform special tasks throughout the week such as counting each classes house points, setting up assemblies, taking care of younger children on the playground and organising the lyrics and music for each assembly to name but a few! Each week the winning House Captains lift the ‘house trophy’ in celebrating success Collective Worship. House Captains are voted for each year by their fellow pupils.
In order to be a House Captain, each child must write a speech and present to the rest of the school to explain why they would be a positive role model, as well as what they would do to improve our school for all stakeholders.
Our current house captains are:
- Poppy
- Hope
- Max
- Hayden
- Oliver
- Matilda
- Tom
- Yara
- Robbie
Playground Monitors / Friends
House Captains also act as 'Playground Monitors / Friends.' They wear brightly coloured caps on the playground so any child who doesn't have someone to play with, knows who to go to if they need a friend. Playground monitors help set up and run playtime games as well as look after younger children. Pupils sit on the rainbow 'Friendship Bench' if they don't have anyone to play with. This then alerts our Year 4 monitors who spring into action to support other pupils!
